Be With Me

Be With Me

Utterly dependent
Shaking in frailty
Fretting and worrying
Sinning and sinning
A dog after his own tail;
Immutable constant
Sovereign Lord
Loving master,
Have mercy upon my humanness
Eternally patient with the slow
Fixing fate to the highest end;
I complain about my medicine
I moan about my discipline
Acting as if I’m not loved,
Calling a snow flake a blizzard
A hike a journey
A cross a world,
Forgive me my Lord
Strengthen me to carry,
What a privilege it is
To serve and fight for Thou
What joy and richness
What peace of the soul,
Thank you Lord
Thank for people
Thank you for creation
Thank you for salvation
Thank you for the Scriptures
Thank you for hope,
I am weak
Strengthen your weak soldier
I desire to have faith
I desire to obey
Yet I’m weak;
So, immanent, patient, loving God
Be with me.
