Immanent

Immanent

If I cave in on myself
As a volcanic mountain
In its moment of destruction
You are here

If I flee from myself
Running to the obscurest corners
Surrounded with the unknown
You are here

If I try to hide myself
Closed off and silent
The hermit’s choosing
You are here

If I openly wound myself
Piercing my soul
Sinning out of rebellion
You are here

If I proudly covet myself
Seeing only through my vanity
Putting my wants above others needs
You are here

If I nakedly mask myself
Placid smirk stapled on
Faking the movements stepped
You are here

If I turn to left or the right
If I shout for joy or cry of despair
You are here

Always, always here
To the jot and stroked detail of life
To the dramatic heavy episodes
You are here

You are with me to the end
You are the caring Lord
Not there, but here, always.
