A Lie

A Lie

Drained, tired and weak;
You sustain my soul,
Confused, bewildered and shaken;
You are the anchor of my salvation,
What do I have that is not from you?
My fleshly desires
My ignorance
My cruelty
My pride
My depravity,
What a lie determinism is
Man chose to be non-man
What an insult evolution is to the ape,
All that is twisted, perverse and wicked
Came from that choice,
And you and I are not innocent
In his loins we too chose falsehood
In Adam we chose a lie,
Hear the earth shake
Hear the thunder the roll
Feel the shame
Feel the pride that is within and characterizes your fallen soul,
I’m free declares man and woman
I’m free, I’m free
I’m free to believe a lie,
And so we did
You and I out of our choice believed and acted upon a lie.
