Southern

Southern

Red garden of learned saints:
Red rustic bricks paint the walls, and pave the ways,
White window panes, white Greco columns, and white towers reaching the sky,
Green grassy lawn, green bushes all around, and tall green trees here and there,
Red, white, and green; red, white, and green is all that is seen;

Rabbits and squirrels dash about
Dr. Mohler wears his suit of clout,
The Norton bell rings on hour
Birds fly around its’ clock tower,
Students gather for the chapel sermon
The preacher lays the heavy burden,
In class Dr. Ware teaches with a passionate heart
And Dr. Schreiner humbly analyzes from the start,
After class the students kick the soccer ball
In front of the library columns of tall,
Boyce, Spurgeon, and Edwards flow through the hall
Erroneous theological misconceptions daily fall,
A community all of its own
Protestant Reformed to the bone,
As Knox said about Calvin’s Academy
No better place for Christ’s cavalry.
