Confessions of Science
I use to think
That science had a hidden scheme,
And that humanism was its theme;
Now I see
That the earth never was flat,
And that the sun is the center of our map;
I use to think
That evolution was an enemy of the state,
And that earth had to have a young date;
Now I see
That science seeks what is true,
And that Darwin deserves his due;
I use to think
That Scripture was literal, straight forward,
And that evolution deserved the sword;
Now I see
The beauty of the living tree,
And that God has used common ancestry.
