When I am Old and Grey
When I am old and grey
I hope I can honestly say,
That I lived my life with integrity,
And I did not abuse my liberty;
When I am old and grey
I hope I can honestly say,
That I did my dealings squarely,
And I treated all people fairly;
When I am old and grey
I hope I can honestly say,
That my life was filled with beauty,
And I was humble, not snooty;
When I am old and grey
I hope I can honestly say,
That with all I sought peace,
And prayed for those in the Mid-East;
When I am old and grey
I hope I can honestly say,
That my life was marked by joys,
And this was with or without toys;
Whether old or grey
I would like to say,
That I lived my life fully,
And never counted it dully.
