The Great Poet?

The Great Poet?

They say he wrote a Mona Lisa
Motivated women like Mother Teresa,
And that’s not all, no that’s not all;
They say he did it with no inspiration,
And no particular concentration,
Like a butterfly landing on a rose
Or a high peak collecting winter snows,
He didn’t care, he didn’t think
He just wrote! He just wrote!
But I’m not so sure, no I’m not so sure;

They say he wrote an Eiffel Tower
Made ordinary life like a flower,
And that’s not all, no that’s not all;
They say he did it with no revelation,
And could in any given situation,
Like the laughter of the young
Or the gentle rising of the sun,
He didn’t care, he didn’t think
He just wrote! He just wrote!
But I’m not so sure, no I’m not so sure;

They say he wrote an Egyptian pyramid
Made an old man feel like a kid,
And that’s not all, no that’s not all;
They say he did it with no manifestation,
And could with no specific preparation,
Like an eagle soaring in the air
Or the beautiful gallop of a mare,
He didn’t care, he didn’t think
He just wrote! He just wrote!
But I’m not so sure, no I’m not so sure.
