The End and the Beginning

Shall the seas be drained
And the mountains leveled?
Shall he Word come again?
Full of Righteous wrath
Riding on a white horse
Bringing eternal justice to earth,
Will you the flames in His eyes?
Will you see the birds swarming?
Will the terror of His title fill you?
“Lord of Lords” and “King of Kings”,
Was it easy to deny Him?
Was it easy to curse His bride?
Will blood stain His garment?
Will you face the sword?
The sentence coming from His mouth,
Will the birds feast on your flesh?
Oh my friend, this and so much more
No mind can fathom the darkness
Unable to see your hand
Every step full of uncertainty and fear,
Or, what of the heat?
Black fire vaporizing your skin
Your flesh being baked but never destroyed,
Oh my friend will you see the White Throne?
Will your deeds and words condemn you?
What is that my friend?
Oh yes, I’ve forgotten
Yes, I see it in your smirk
With your eye brows slanted down
Yes, I hear it in your voice,
You don’t believe in such fairy tales
You don’t believe you deserve any such verdict
Yes, yes you were a good father
And a good business man
Yes, how absurd it is
Such a God doing such a thing
Yes, you think I’m half crazy
Bought into a religious cult or something
Yes, that’s right, just dismiss it all

Pass the chips, the football is on,
