A Mother's Love

A Mother’s Love

Who but a mother can understand
The love Virgin Mary had for thy Lord?
The love of a mother for her son
A son, a child, a gift from God
Out of her womb he came,
And in her labor pains was he birthed;
A mother’s love is a precious thing
And to be loved by thy mother nearly equal,
A loving mother helps her son grow to a man;
She is more valuable than gold
For she fixes his character
And sets him upon the upright path;
No amount of thanks can equate her love
All the son can do is say, “thank you”,
And try to give from what he has received
For a mother in her love is giving
More giving then the son knows.
