Our Time
I have a different mind
For what’s happening in our time;
Some are calling for democracy,
But I fear hypocrisy;
Others claim it’s all a sign
So I search the Scriptures,
But only find
Some contradicting pictures…
Where Christ says to give food
I find starving children in the nude,
Where Christ says to shine as a light
I find his children running in flight,
Where Christ displayed bravery
I find status-quo slavery,
Where Christ gave the blind sight
I find hesitant fright;
So where is Christ in our time?
It’s time to vote, I better get in line.
