Selfless Saints
You’ll find him praying at dawn,
And praying at dusk;
You’ll find her loving and serving
Her gentle spirit never stops praying,
You’ll find him in the business world
Tough, truthful, and humble,
You’ll find her in the store
Carrying an elders groceries,
There is more to them then meets the eye
The enlightenment of their being is startling
Sadly, generally unrecognized
Silent though scoffed at
Their lives are boisterous
They are hated for truths sake
They love all and seek to help
Their own gain is postponed for others,
They have a stiff back bones
Defined by the Word
Many have died for their uncompromising ways
Their leader, truth itself, was killed,
They are the selfless saints
But you will know them as
Fanatic and freak
Contemplative and conservative
Backwards and behind
Stranger and hobo
Ancient and apostolic,
And hopefully not as the ‘others’
Not as the ‘they’
But as yourself.
