Unlce's Story

Uncle’s Story

Flairs on the highway
A body still on the ground
Young man chose to go rather then stay
Six hours his legs were bound
And his life is forever changed,
Track star legs to be amputated
Hospital nightmares
Visions of a choice
Depart now or keep on
He had the choice,
Life over death
Hard work over rest
He chose to carry on,
I hope he sees the gift
Sees the mercy and grace
For one gave him the choice
And gave it for a reason
For he will not force his way in
But stands at the door
And I hope he takes this second chance
To believe and respond in faith
To come home out of this mess
To see that he’s saved by grace
To run again with resurrected legs
In sweet New Jerusalem.
