Sincere Hallelujah
It’s that same old time again
To sing of the one who has forgiven sin,
But I don’t feel like it anymore
I only want to run to the door;
There are smiles all around
And they make a joyous sound,
But I feel like there is something more
It strikes deep down at the core,
I don’t want another fake chord
I just want the voice of the Lord;
I’ll sing a sincere hallelujah
From a broken, contrite heart
That knows I can’t do my part,
Oh give me sincerity today
And I’ll sing a hallelujah that way,
I know today is another day
And I don’t always feel perky with joy,
But if you’ll be sincere that way
Then I’ll sing a hallelujah today
Oh I’ll sing a hallelujah today.
