The Church
A strange, peculiar community
Marked out by love and unity;
A gathering of a diverse people
Not a bricked building with a steeple;
The Holy Spirit bringing individuals together
The elect, God’s chosen ones forever;
Individuals redeemed to be one
God on earth, the living son;
Enemies made family members
An ancient forest of strong timbers;
A living, active, organic body
All members humble, not haughty;
A community sharing a collective story
Giving their savior all the glory.
