Bearing His Reproach

Bearing His Reproach

They think of us as odd, backwards, and un-fun,
They do not know the peace of the risen Son;
And they draw their invisible sword,
Because we belong to the Lord;
We become scoffed at, reproached, humiliated,
We hold to heaven and hell, how out dated;
And they draw their invisible sword,
Because we belong to the Lord;
They do not understand our joy, our faith, our labors,
They have so many pathetic saviors;
And they turn their shoulders to mock,
Because we belong to the Lord’s flock;
We love, forgive, pray, taking on Christ’s shame,
We know that we bear his name;
And they turn their shoulders to mock,
Because we belong to the Lord’s flock.
